South Korea 2014: Namiseom Island and Petite France

So this is sort of the highlight of our trip! I've been excited about this ever since Cyril and I were making our itinerary. Yay! It's our trip to Namiseom Island! It's at Chuncheon, South Korea and that's just outside Seoul. We woke up around 4:00AM the next day (which was really hard considering we were eating chicken and talking at midnight). We wanted to catch the 9:10AM Gapyeong Shuttle Bus Schedule but sadly missed it so we waited for the next bus which is 10:10AM

How to get there: This time I'm giving you options, subway or bus. What we did was the subway option.

Subway: Exit at Gapyeong Station (this is a 2-hr long subway ride from Gayang!). After this, you take either a bus or a taxi for a 15-minute ride to the Gapyeong Wharf (or the Wharf where you can catch the ferry to Namiseom Island). Right outside the station, there's a bus stop going to Namiseom Island and it's just a regular public bus (G Bus) where you can use your T-money card or the card you use on the subway. What we took was the Gapyeong Shuttle Bus because we're still going to Petite France after Namiseom Island. The line for the shuttle bus is just outside the Tourist Information Center and you pay the driver directly once you enter the bus (yes, cash).
This is the good thing about the Gapyeong Shuttle Bus, it's a hop on-hop off bus and it only costs 5,000won. It's cheaper for us since we wanted to go to both Nami Island and Petite France. And the subway costs us around 3,000won from Gayang, I think. Check the subway cost from where you're staying here (Cyber Station South Korea)
Cost: 6,000won(roundtrip subway) + 5,000won(Nami Island&Petite France) = 11,000won

Bus: This would take you directly to Namiseom Island and it's less hassle since you're not changing stations. Purchase your tickets at Insa-dong at their Seoul Main Office two days before your Namiseom Island trip. You can choose whether you want to take the bus from Jamsil or Insa-dong. For more information, click here.
1) Insa-dong Bus Stop (Jonggak Station, Line 1, Exit 3) it's right next to Tapgol Park
2) Jamsil Bus Stop (Jamsil Station, Line 2, Exit 4) in front of Lotte Mart
If you want to take this, then go to Petite France, you still need to pay the 5,000won of Gapyeong Shuttle Bus from Namiseom Island to Petite France since I don't think there are G Buses (regular public buses) stopping at Nami Island.
Cost: 7,500won (one way to Nami) + 5,000won (Nami to Petite France) + 3,000won (subway to Seoul) = 15,500won

Once you get off at Gapyeong Wharf, you'll see this.

The ticket or the 'visa' to Namiseom Island is 8,000won and it already includes the ferry fare.

You do not have to worry about the ferry schedule. The ferry schedule interval is about 10-20 minutes.
There are a lot of people since we came on a holiday! (We didn't know it was until our friends told us)

What a great photobomber hahaha

Pritzy freaked out when she saw the ostrich up close hahaha I seriously thought that this ostrich was a statue. It wasn't moving at all!!
They're giving some 'passion' while waiting in line at the bike rentals
We're not giving enough 'passion' as Pritzy said hahaha
We thought that going around Nami Island on foot would take a long time, we decided to rent a couple bike! It costs us 10,000won for an hour. It was seriously hard to navigate the bike when you're both girls. You need strength!!!

So yeah, I gave 'passion' hahaha
Namiseom Island was actually a really romantic place. And while we're looking around, I actually thought that it would be nice if I'm with my boyfriend the next time I go here! I think it would be nice during spring and autumn.

A really cute heart trash can!
Pandas on trees!
It's the reenactment of the bike scene of Winter Sonata!
A really funny statue at the Happiness Village! Hahaha

We decided to rest for a while and enjoy the scenery before we go to Petite France. We wanted to catch the 2:15PM Gapyeong Shuttle Bus going to Petite France but sadly missed the bus again. Since there are a lot of people lining up for the bus, it was unfortunately cut off right in front of us. We took the 3:15PM bus instead.
The regular price for Petite France is 8,000won but we printed out a coupon which makes our entrance fee only 6,000won. Print out the coupon here. It ends February 2015.
I wanted to come here mainly because of Running Man, episode 40 with Joongki still in it and Taecyeon and Nichkhun as guests! (I am a super fan and I have literally watched all episodes). Hahaha but the most recent drama shot in Petite France was You Who Came from the Stars starring Kim Soo Hyun and Jun Ji Hyun which I have also watched and I loved Kim Soo Hyun in it! Hahahaha

'Passion' again! Hahaha

I am the 'other woman' hahahaha
Cyril was actually fanning Pritzy's hair while Klariz shot this hahahaha so that there's the 'realistic' effect to the picture.
It was funny and scary when we took turns taking this picture! You have to get on a glass and the photographer would be lying down under you. It was really hard and scary and funny because we were all wearing skirts (except Pritzy) hahaha

You can go around Petite France for 1-2 hours but we took our time so we actually missed the last bus for the Gapyeong Shuttle Bus which is at 6:40PM.

So our little adventure began... We went out of Petite France around 7:00PM so we waited for the G Bus (regular public buses). They have bus schedules posted at the ticketing booth. The bus was due to arrive past 8:00PM but it actually arrived past 9:00PM which annoyed a lot of people also taking the bus (I heard them calling the bus operators and actually understood what they were talking about haha). It's a rare thing when buses miss their schedules so you could say that it surprised most of the people there. You can take the taxi but it would be costly that's why we really pursued waiting for the bus. We decided though that if the bus still didn't arrive around 9:00PM, we're going to have to take the taxi until Cheongpyeong Terminal. We were afraid that the subway would be closed by then. I mean, we were outside Seoul so how can we get to Seoul from there when the subway closes?! It was crazy. But thankfully, the bus did arrive. And we stopped at the Cheongpyeong Bus Terminal. And it sucks because we didn't know how to get to Cheongpyeong Subway Station so we took the taxi from Cheongpyeong Bus Terminal to Cheongpyeong Subway Station. Good thing it was just a 5-10 minute drive and it's cheap. We arrived at Gayang Station around midnight and ate our dinner at a restaurant near our apartment.

Yay to our fun-filled and adventure-filled Day 4!
