We were lucky on our second day! It wasn't raining anymore though the weather forecast said that it would be raining that day. (After our disastrous first day, I made sure to check the weather forecast everyday until our last day. The Seoul forecast is usually true.) Just to make sure, we still brought an umbrella with us.
Our first stop was
Gyeonghuigung Palace! It's not a part of the Integrated Ticket of Palaces but the entrance is free, so why not? hahaha
How to get there: Seodaemun Station (Line 5) Exit # 4, just walk straight until you reach the Naeil Newspaper Office, then turn LEFT. (My friend and I almost got lost because the information at the visitkorea website said turn right. Don't stop walking until you see the Seoul Museum of History sign. It's actually on the same location.)
My first and last Seoul jump shot! Hahaha (long story but my feet are super sore from the day we arrived until the day we left)
Hahaha you can count how many people are in Gyeonghuigung Palace. It's very very small compared to the major palaces.
Next stop was Gyeongbokgung Palace! We decided beforehand that we're going to walk there! Although it's time consuming, it's fun looking around and enjoying the city sights. We even discovered a park near Gyeonghuigung Palace!
Here's a map for the path we took going to
Gyeongbokgung Palace. It's a 30 min walk but if you don't like to walk, you could take the subway.
How to get there: Gyeongbokgung Station (Line 3) Exit 5
We had lunch at Pizza School before going to the palace. It's around Exit 1 and 7 of Gyeongbokgung Station.
We ordered the Steak pizza which is really good and and really cheap. My friend said that the Sweet Potato pizza is a must try too! I'm wishing we have one like this in the Philippines! I'm craving for their pizza right now!!!
Our bag was too heavy for us so we left our bags at the lockers area. It's just right after you enter the palace. You just need to insert 100 won. You can get it back when you retrieve your belongings.
We coincidentally met our friend, Angelyn. We were supposed to meet her Saturday together with our other friends but yay! (it was Wednesday this day)
We kept walking until we reached the National Folk Museum at the very back of the Gyeongbokgung Palace. (actually, it was because I really need to use the restroom)
We found this near park near the National Folk Museum!!! It has a nice view!
Our feet were very sore by the time we got out of Gyeongbokgung Palace (we spent almost 3-4 hours there! So huge!) so we decided to rest for awhile at the Gwanghamun Square.
We tried on hanbok at Gwanghamun Square and it's actually free!! It's part of the promotion of Seoul's tourism organization. You only need to show your ID or passport.
The Cheonggyecheon Stream is actually really really really long! Of course we didn't finish walking until the end. Hahaha we stopped around 1/4 of the stream. I think we only passed by 6 bridges so mehhh. Hahaha
At
Dongdaemun Design Plaza! They have a light show around 8 and 9 in the evening but we didn't get to watch it but someone told us that it would light up from the bottom to the top.
How to get there: Dongdaemun History & Culture Park Station (Line 4) Exit 1
Yay! Dinner! This was the best dinner we had and it just cost us around 7,000 won each. We just passed by this restaurant by chance when we were looking for a place to eat. I forgot the name of the restaurant but they gave us a business card (which I couldn't find right now).
The restaurant is around here! There are plenty of restaurants on this street. When you walk coming from Exit 5, it's on the right side. It's a restaurant without any tables and chairs on the outside. I recommend this restaurant because the food is cheap and delicious! And I think they're the first restaurant you'll see with an English menu. The owner knows how to speak basic English and Japanese.
Yay to our Day 2!
