Fancy name. (haha)
The "Predator Cup" (that's what my teacher called it) is this interclass futsal tournament that my teacher started having last semester. (and I think he's going to continue having it every semester)
It's for the students in his soccer and futsal classes. (I'm in his girls' soccer class)
He picked out random students from each class to collaborate in a team. (even though we basically don't know each other)
Well, I initially did not like the idea of having a futsal tournament because:
1.) I'm in his soccer class! It basically shouts 'Soccer!' not 'Futsal'!
2.) I don't really have a good memory of playing futsal (I suck at it when we played it in my high school varsity)
3.) I don't know who my teammates are.
4.) Mixed boys and girls! I also don't have a good memory of playing sports with boys. I have this idea of them hogging the ball and not really trusting the ball to the girls. (meaning not passing the ball or just ignoring us)
But then, I sort of went okay with it because I don't have a choice (it's my grade here!) and one of my close friends is my teammate. (She's in the girls' futsal class)
So I literally have to drag myself to the Baker Hall that day. (while grumbling and mumbling about how early it is and how I should just lie in bed all day)
There are six teams that's going to play and we get a chance to play with all five teams.
I'm a proud member of the Red team! :)
The first games were really exciting. I get to watch some of my friends play and cheer for them!
I also get a chance to absorb all the basics. And it's kind of like soccer but quicker and less people.
When it's finally my turn to play, I eventually got the hang of it and I absolutely had fun playing it.
It's one of those times when I just enjoy and not think about winning.
I'm with my friends and I met new people (basically my teammates).
In the end, it's really funny how at first, I just went there for my grade and then unexpected things happened and I find my team ending up in the finals round.
Well, we won second place!
And it's more than enough for me because I got a chance to experience playing the sport without knowing who my teammates are. (I still don't know their names until now)
